About the event
Jeff Walther has been serving as Scottsdale’s Police Chief since December 1, 2020, in response to the City Manager’s request for him to come out of retirement and lead the Scottsdale Police Department during a transformational time in its history.
Chief Walther was originally hired by the Scottsdale Police Department in July 1994 as police officer and over his 24-year police career found himself in the positions of Patrol Officer, Detective, SWAT Officer, Patrol Sergeant, Detective Sergeant, Patrol Lieutenant, Training Lieutenant, McKellips District Commander, Downtown District Commander and Assistant Chief of Police. Chief Walther retired from the Scottsdale Police Department in May 2018, as the Assistant Chief of Police over the Uniformed Services Bureau, which included the Patrol and Special Operations Divisions.
