Foothills Caringcorps Presentation

FCC annually provides over 27,000 vital services to more than 500 “Neighbors”, older adults and persons with disabling conditions who reside in the Desert Foothills community. These services include mobile meal delivery, non-emergency medical trips, recreational van trips, shopping assistance, minor home repairs, basic technology help, friendly visiting, pet visiting and maintenance of a mobility loan closet. We have over 200 compassionate and dedicated volunteers providing these services to individuals in all neighborhoods, including yours, on a daily basis.

Our agency exemplifies the example and impact of a Neighbor helping a Neighbor. Greater than the delivery of these services is the connection, socialization, and emotional well-being that our staff and volunteers provide to our Neighbors as they navigate aging in their home or recovering from a medical procedure. Many of our Neighbors do not have family, friends, or other local support systems to provide the assistance offered by our organization through our volunteers. Because of both the demographics of our service area and the increased awareness of Foothills Caring Corps, the demand for our services continues to grow at a record pace.

• Grocery store gift cards (we have Neighbors with food insecurity issues and limited cash assistance.  We take our Neighbors to Fry’s and Safeway on Senior Day once a month in our vans and give those Neighbors on assistance cards so they can shop with the other Neighbors.)
